December 2017

Posted by Eugene Ace on

Hello everyone,

'Tis the season for shopping lists, holiday parties and one-too-many times hearing Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas" playing on the radio (but it's sooooo good!). Before we all take off for a much needed respite from work and busy schedules, we wanted to send you off with one last GoJava update for 2017.

Green Your Holiday
Check out this month's blog for 5 pro tips to green your holiday. You might be surprised by what you find there!

As you know, as of September 2017 GoJava has committed to donating 1 tree for every order we receive. We are proud to be partnering with WeForest on this initiative and with their guidance have decided to support their reforestation efforts in Zambia. Zambia is one of the poorest countries in the world and also happens to have one of the highest rates of deforestation due to an increase in charcoal production following the collapse of their mining industry. You can read more about this project here to learn how your support of GoJava is having a global impact.

Coffee Pods and CN Towers
As of September 2017, GoJava's little elves have diverted 732,789 coffee pods from landfill, the equivalent of 59 CN Towers stacked top to bottom. This is a staggering amount of waste that, thanks to you, is not sitting in landfill.

As we close out 2017, we would like to take the time to express our deep gratitude for your support over this year. At GoJava we are constantly striving to be better and do better, not only for the planet, but also for each other because we believe achieving a wide-reaching impact starts at home. We are looking forward to 2018 as a year in which we will grow and expand our efforts, all the while remaining true to our core values of kindness, ethical practices and innovative endeavours.

Wishing you and yours a healthy, peaceful and joyous holiday.
-The GoJava Team
