COVID-19: What GoJava Is Doing To Keep You Safe

Posted by Allison McDonald on

Hello everyone,
We're not sure if you've heard, but there's this thing going around called COVID-19 that we wanted to bring your attention to.
Because OF COURSE that's all anyone is talking about! Without adding to the panic and pandemonium, we wanted to reach out to let you all know that keeping you safe is top of mind and we are taking specific precautions to ensure that remains the case. We also have some office-specific tips that might be helpful (with a little dose of humour thrown in, because, well, in these strange times you need to have a bit of levity throughout the day, amiright?!) So here goes:
What we are doing to keep you safe:
  • We are screening all of our drivers and warehouse staff daily for symptoms. Anyone feeling ill or having symptoms associated with COVID-19 is under strict instructions to stay home. We are a small and dedicated team. Your safety is our first concern. And we will make sure there is compliance.
  • Drivers sanitize their hands before and after every delivery.
  • Drivers will also cary sanitizer wipes with them and help you disinfect high touch areas relating to our equipment (coffee machines and water filtration machines)
  • We will also do our best to stock up on hand sanitizers, sanitizing wipes, and soap so that you can purchase these for your office. Supplies are short, but we are going to do our best to keep stock levels up.
What you can do to make your office a safer space during this time:
We are not experts on this topic, but since we are in the business of supplying offices and the lovely people who work in them, we've done our research.
  • Obvious Tip #1: Encourage employees to wash their hands or sanitize regularly (and, honestly, we hope they've been doing that anyway!)
  • Obvious Tip #2: Encourage your employees to cough and sneeze into their elbow (not hand) because no one wants cough or sneeze spray on them, and especially not now.
  • Disinfect high touch areas in the office multiple times per day (e.g. door and cabinet handles, fridge doors, buttons on the elevator, coffee machine, water filtration machine, bulk dispensers, milk cartons, etc.)
  • Use cleaners that are labeled as "disinfectants"
  • Choose individual / single use packaging over bulk / shared items and avoid reach-in packaging (e.g. individual chip bags vs. large shared chip bags, individual cheeses vs large shared bricks, etc.)
  • Either wash your reusable mugs super well (lots of hot water and soap). Or put them aside for the next little while in favour of paper cups if you can't guarantee that you have good mug-washers in your midst.
If you want to bone up on some research yourself, the World Health Organization has good, non fake-news resources here:
If you have any questions for us or if there is anything else we can help you with, please contact us. We're here to help you keep calm and carry on!
Remember to Breathe. And also wash your hands.
Yours in health,
The GoJava Team
